She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen
PAPER PROJECT
Grief is something that makes you relearn the world around you and your relationship to it, and I want to demonstrate that through my designs. Agnes’s life was forever changed when she lost her family. She had to reevaluate everything, especially her relationship to her sister. When she found Tilly’s notebook, she decided to rebuild their relationship from the ground up. I want the audience to recognize that story of relearning and to feel empowered to evaluate their relationships and know that it is never too late to rebuild relationships. There is hope in starting new. A house is only as strong as its foundation, and even the most beautiful house will crumble without a solid base. There is strength and hope in rebuilding. I am choosing to show this in fundamental and basic support structures found in nature and industrial settings such as wires, tubing, skeletons, the veining of leaves etc. “ The house won’t fall if the bones are good”
